Hollywood/Santa Monica Neighborhood Association
Originally known as the Hollywood Addition, Hollywood Heights/Santa Monica was originally gifted to Robert Moore in 1845 by the Republic of Texas. In the 1920s, famed Kessler Park developer, J.B. Salmon, bought the land, which was a former dairy farm. The Hollywood Addition eventually blossomed to encompass the residential additions of Santa Monica and Collier.
The mainly two- and three-bedroom stone or brick cottages in Hollywood Heights/Santa Monica, are heavily populated by Tudor-style homes, though the development features an interesting cornucopia of French and Spanish eclectic, minimal traditional, Pueblo Revival, Monterrey and Craftsman abodes.
Nearby, residential amenities include Samuell Grand Park, Tennison Memorial Golf Course, Lakewood Country Club, and White Rock Lake.
Hollywood Heights/Santa Monica is bounded to the east by Grand Street, Santa Fe to the west, and the Santa Fe railroad to the north.
The Hollywood-Santa Monica Neighborhood Association offers residents access to its Expanded Neighborhood Patrol program. Residents who pay for an ENP membership benefit with effective police response when an on-duty ENP officer responds to their pages. The neighborhood crime watch program is coordinated through the Dallas Police Department, and utilizes off-duty police officers for neighborhood patrols.
The HSMNA's pet watch program, Pet Connection, is being formed.
